:how much horsepower do you think you're making, unless it's 400+ real HP or about 450+ lbs. of torque you don't need the extra strength of the Bronco 31 spline rearend,
Look at it this way, Ford didn't use the 31 spline axles on any cars other then the HiPo Big Blocks with mega torque and HP> I don't think you fall into that category. Always use the manufacters ideas as a guide line.
And besides some of the truck type 9" rearends aren't really 9" they're 9 3/8" and probably won't fit.

Now my question is weather I can use a bronco 3rd member in the 9". I know that broncos are 31 spline axles. If I use some aftermarket 31 spline axles and the bronco center, will that work? What else do I need, does the bronco pumpkin yoke bolt up to a mustang drive shaft, I assume that I will also have to shorten my drive shaft. This 9" is going in a 65 stang by the way, but the front discs are going on the mav! So what else on the versailles could I possibly use on the mav? Is a 78 302 block any good, i figure the heads are junk, but maybe the shortblock with some aftermarket heads would work. To low compression? If anyone needs any Versailles parts, this one is super clean even the clock works, to bad its so ugly! Thanx for the help guys!
