: i want to get rid of the I-6 that's in my car and replace it with a 302.anybody done this?is there a kit i can buy? what parts will i need and where can i find them? thanks,shannon throttle cable from v8 2or4 door,engine frame recieving brackets from v8 2or4 door,radiator,hoses,trans cooling line relocation,fuel line relocation,cross member from v8,loosen trans mount there is about 1-2 inch adjustment to move trans forward enough for v8 to line up where 6 was,bell houseing swap should not be an issue.I recently put a 289 from a66 mustang in a 71 2 door maverick.these were some problems i overcame.if you use header exhaust it is an unnecesary challenge to .install plus shifter linkage will be in your way and engineering is neccesary.after the engine is in you may consider removeing front springs and cutting 3/4ths to 1 coil from spring and reinstall not that difficult.also but a lowering kit for rear to greatly improve handleing.check front end parts close for wear ,most often bad.
