I have a 74 Maverick set-up on my 70 , the outer pads on my calipers are also kinda loose.If I jack up the cars front end and spin the wheel either way the pads makes a clanking sound.When I got these calipers off the other car they had silicone to hold the pad in place, I didn't try that but now I may consider it.BTW , only the inner pad has a spring to keep the pad in place.
