If you want the new transmission and fuel injection, it will be the undertaking that 1BADMAV says it is. However, you can use the 92 engine with your c4 transmission. You need a 50 oz C4 flywheel to make it work. You can use any 289-302 aftermarket intake manifold and carb on the engine. You can use the serpentine belt system, or change over to old-style V-belts (They require different water pumps is you do).
The late model 5.0L's are much more efficient than the earlier engines. Use a 1985 Mustang GT 2-pc fuel pump eccentric, change the sump and oil pan, and that should be all.
Just depends if you want the engine's electronics or not. It is nice for driveability and mileage, but a lot of work as well. -CP

: ok guys, i have some questions for you. i asked some on the last board, but stefan wiped out the board right after i posted them up. i have a 74 comet with the 250, C-4.
: - how hard is it to put in a 5.0HO from a 92mustang etc. i know charlie has done this. what i need to know most is the electrical/electronic aspect of it. how difficult is it? do i have to change wiring harness etc.???

: - basically i need to know all the changes that must be made for this swap to work. i think the sump has to be changed too?

: - are there any connections (electronic) that run to the tranny? the guy at the junkyard told me that there are... he said i would have lots of problems trying this swap.

: - what parts will i have to get? so far, i know... V8 motor mounts, tranny crossmember?

: any help greatly appeciated guys, (and paulie!)
: thanks, Inshan
