They are easy to do. Might want to take the coil springs out to be safe. All the weight of the car is on them. Remove the cotter key, then remove the big nut that holds it to the spindle, and remove. Then loosen and remove the three/four mounting bolts that hold the upper ball joint to the upper control arm. It'll fall out. Clean it all up, and put the new one in. Be sure to torque the bolts to specs.

The lower ball joint is easier if you just replace the whole lower control arm assembly. Pretty much the same thing, but there is only one eccentric bolt that holds the inside part of the lower control arm. Note the direction of that bolt. It needs to go back in that same way it came out. Get everything all tight, and torqued. Then get a GOOD alignment.

Should be it.
