: ive got a 72 mav and i am tring to change the color entirely and i stripped off thr paint and i dont have a compressor right now so i painted it with rust tough primer will this do ok and their is some little small tiny rust spots showing through the primer right now in some places is this kind of paint an etching paint please help me i all most have all of the car painted except the back passanger side quarter panel and the front end but thats getting ripped off for fiberglass pieces PLEASE HELP me before i screw up my dream car ROBERT

:Once you have it stripped down to bare metal, they have a solution called metal prep that you could wipe the spots down with.Your best bet then would be to borrow a compressor for the afternoon and spray the spots with Vari-prime it is yellowish green in color it is made by Dupont. It is a self etching primer I believe they also may have it available in spray cans.A couple of coats will hold out the rust for a long time.we have one project that has been sitting in this primer for over 6 years with no rust through.
