I am just going to match up the old one when I change it. Good point though, it probably does fit other cars as well, so that might be th reason for the rod. -CP

: :a way that you might find the one that works best for you, is to take the retaining clip of the rods and test both of them for pedal height. With the clips removed you can install them in the master cylinder and on the pedal and test them. One thing is the master cylinder will bottom out at some point.
: I wondering if the big issue with the pedal height is due to the standard or manual trans setup. I do know that on a power and manual brake system in some cars they even used different pedals with different ratios due to the foot pressure required.
: I aslo wonder if it's because they are used on other cars and they just supply the rod that works for each one. then you have to match it up with the old one, if possible, when you take it out.

: I just bought a new Master cyl for my Maverick, a new (not reman) Raybestos unit, anyway I haven't installed it yet but it came with two rods of different lengths, maybe a solution to the pedal height problem? It is a 4-wheel drum Master cyl (using it for 4-wheel discs) -CP
