: The '81 Granadas are a Fox-Chassis, like the Mustang and Fairmont. They are not related to the Maverick in any way. I beleive the 5-speed didn't come in the Mustang until 1983, so certainly it would not have been available in the Granada before that. It would be an easy swap using a later Mustang trans though. It uses a cable clutch, not a linkage. -CP
