My mother gets jerked around alot because she is of course a woman. Sometimes I ask her wh t the mechanic or parts guy said and all I hear sometimes is alot of bulls**t.
Men are more apt to take advantage of a woman because they expect them to not know anything about cars. So I always go with my mother or go for her when the car needs work. You do get what you pay for. We take our Volvo to a more expensive place but they are all all trained by Bosch from the factory and have no complaints against them. They do it right the first time. It usaully costs more but it's definately worth it! When some says blown carb. Blown tranny. That perks my ears up. Why would they speak so generally? A 1 bbl carb. is pretty tough. For it to be so bad you have to junk would mean alot of heat and wear getting to it. I rebuilt mine and it works. Not perfectly but gets decent mileage and meters fine. Just in case your wondering. You can get a 1 bbl for about 90$. And they are very easy to replace yourself. As far as suspension. 30 years of road grime and wear usaully trash all the bushings. If they haven't been replaced you probably need all the bushings and ball joints. I suggest the place below. You'll never replace them again.
