I swapped Maverick axles into a Mustang II 8" with no problems. Didn't know about the bearing difference, so, even Mavericks are different sizes according to lug pattern?-CP

: Yes, the rear axles themselves are different from the 4-lug to the 5-lug. They have different bearings. It is possible to get a bearing to work...but it can be confusing to figure out. The easy way to do it is to swap the entire rear end.

: : I just did the 5 lug conversion on my '72. I tried to replace just the rear axles from a granada 8 inch rear end into my maverick housing but the bearing was a different size. I had to replace the whole rear end. I don't know if the granada and maverick 5 lug rears are exactly the same. Just thought you might want to know. It bolted in fine.
