: I've got this '78 Maverick that has been around for a while. Orinally my son was going to fix it up for his first car. But the impatiences of youth has over whelmed that thought. We are now at a cross roads, we don;t know whether to keep it and slowly restore it, or sell it for parts. It is not in the best shape. The floor boards adn firewall are rusted out (mostly). Overall the body is not in too bad a shape. At least it is whole. The engine will run, with a little time and attention and as far as I know the manuel transmission works fine. We are an old Ford family and I learned to drive on a Maverick or Comet, but not this one. So restoring it would mean a lot semtimentally. But, do we have a car worth restoring? I am in Ohio and the car is in Florida. Will bring it up if we decide to restore. But really just wanted the opion of the "maverick crowd". My husband and I are both very mechanically inclined and could do the job, but I am afraid we don;t know what we are getting into. Never done anything like this before, but always wanted too. Any advice?
