A shroud helps but you shouldn't need one to keep the car from overheating, I live south of you in AL and ran a 190 thermostat without a shroud for a couple years with no problems. Rickyracer pretty much covered the bases on what might be wrong, most likely the radiator is old and doesn't flow well, I'd have it checked out. You should run a 13lb cap. Are you planning to be at the Montgomery Mini-meet on May 20-21st?
: I have 72 grabber with a 302 auto.no AC i'm in tenn. it's in the 80's just got car on road last week it runs 200-210 degrees but when i sto it goes up to about 230 what size rad.cap should it have got. had 190 degree thermastat in changed to 180 it seemed a little better with the 190.I really need a shroud but havent found one.Any help would be deeply appreciated
