I don't think it is your oil pump, when my 351 oil pump went out the light would flicker at low RPM's.My 200 and 250 I-6's both did what you are experiencing, I made sure that thing was full of oil all the time, the only other thing I could think of that is causing the problem(because it only happens on braking or turning) is when you turn or brake the oil in the pan is moving away from the pick-up screen, this can be caused by low oil or a defective pan(dents)both my I-6 oil pans were dented, this is why road racers use baffles in the pan to keep the oil from moving around while turning or braking.I am currious though , how many people have had this problem with their I-6's, maybe a flaw in the oil pan design?Anyway , I hope this helps
