I know I've listed this advice on this board before, but I swear it's not the only thing I know! You can try and run a hot wire from the + side on the coil to the positive battery post(just temporary). If it starts & runs, you've either got a short in the resistor wire or a bad switch. If it doesn't run, it's probably a bad coil.
