There was an article in Hot Rod magazine in the late 70's or early 80's that showed how to make a posi rear end out of an open rearend. All you had to do was add an extra spacer shim in the differential. I remember splitting open the differential of my 69 Mustang and adding the extra shim. It literally made the rear end into a mini-spool. When you went around a corner, the rear end would lope and slide. But it definately worked and it only cost $1.98 for the shim.
: : hi everyone,
: : since my car is going to be hot-rodded a little bit, i thought the addition of a posi-trak would be a good investment.
: : i got this info from a falcon enthusiast. i would appreciate it if anyone can verify it as truth. here goes.....
: : "a posi-trak chunk from either a V6 Mustang II, or a 6 cylinder capri or 6 cylinder pintos, will physically drop in and mate to the existing maverick axles."
: : any of yall ever heard of this?
: : can anyond tell me of any other posi-trac options?
: : thanks
