I'm sorry I do not have any suggestions for a ram air setup. My scoops simply provide fresh-air inlets to the engine compartment and I have an open element air cleaner...this is not the same as ram air. The closer the scoops are to the front of the car or end of the hood, the more effective ram air would be. A good example is the '70-'72 Oldsmobile
4-4-2 ram-air setup. In fact, Ford discovered this with the '67 mustang GT which had the scoop in the middle of the hood and moved it closer to the front of the hood in '68...

: :You sound as though you speak from experience T.L. I was lucky enough to get the scoops out of a Grabber hood that had been crunched for a reasonable price. I've been trying to figure out the best way to hook up this second set of inserts ram-air style for on those clear, dry days. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. John B. (P.S. I don't care if their not in the perfect spot.)

: : While they would not be the ideal "ram air" setup, lots of cool air flows into them when they are opened up which helps engine performance...

: : : : i dont have a grabber hood. i have never seen a maverick that had functional scoops. i was curious if it was ever available or if anyone has info on making them functional?
: : : : i also want to know if it would be better than a simple addition of a "comet" style scoop?

: : : : thanks
