I have a good friend who works for Canfield Head (Canfield, OH) and have had the opportunity to tour the factory. The engineers and shop guys REALLY know their Fords, especially the 5.0. As a matter of fact, the head of their small block ford line owns a 72 Maverick and had one of the sweetest '71 black Comet GT you ever saw.
I currently have a Boss 302 in my Mav. If I had to do up my engine again, I would definately go with the Canfield heads. They actually flow better than Boss heads and move the peak RPM range into the usable range. Also, they're aluminum so they weigh a lot less. If you buy them, get them complete with valves, guides, springs, keepers, valve guides, etc. The non-CNC milled port heads are excellent for the street/strip. Trust me, you won't be dissatisfied with them.
Anyone had experience with Brodix or Canfield heads? Also , anyone know prices for these heads?I am considering a 408W with a set of Brodix heads and a supercharger, but I need to know if these heads are any good for street?
