: I read on one of these sites around here that there were like 300 Shelby Mavericks made. Does anyone know where I can find any pics of one? I tried some Shelby pages but had no luck.
I read an artical in an old car and driver about this "shelby mav".
Apparently they put out litature that it was going to be available,
made in mexico with a license from Shelby America. Not actually a
vehicle of Carroll himself. A few pictures are around, The ones I saw
had bobcat like tail lights a rear spoiler and some stripes, alot like the Brazilian
pics we see. Shelbys were also made in mexico after 71, Carroll Shelby
was pretty much out after 69. There is no records to verify whether
more than 1 was ever made (they had 1 in some pics...). Shelby mexico
was shut down just about this time. With the way they drive south of the border,
the car is long since tuna cans..
