: Hi , I just ordered Headman Economy Headers from PAW today. But while I was reading the footnote section it says these headers(and all others I've seen) don't fit a coloum shift trans., anyone here used headers with a coloum shift? I want the headers and am prepared on midifiying something but without cutting.I DON'T want to cut the floor for a floor shifter, I just need a few modifying tips for the headers to fit. Is it possible to heat them up a bit then bend them alittle?Btw , 70 Maverick with 302. Thanks in advance

I installed headers on my 72 grabber 302 auto on column
way back in 1974. Only thing I had to do was get a different
idler arm cause stock one was in way of header. I had no
problem whatsoever with shift linkage at that time. As far as heating them up and bending them a little, I would advise trial fitting and heating the headers OFF the car. Also I might add that putting headers on a V8 maverick is about the most fun I have ever had in my life ;0
