1971-73 mustang 9" rearend same width as factory maverick 8"

A guy from auto crafters told me that a rear from a 1971-73 mustang would be a direct swap,same width,same leaf spring perch location.Before i go looking for a mustang i want to make sure the info was acurate.anyone with any knowledge of the subject would be greatly appreciated.
