When I installed my front discs (off of a 1980 Granada) I only changed the spindles, test drove the car, and it WOULD NOT stop hardly at all. I replaced Master Cyl with a 1980 Granada manual brake unit and they seemed to work great, but then the rotors eventually turned blue, so the proportioning was not right. I never fixed it as I got rear discs too and I needed no valve.
Anyway, the moral is I think you'll have to change both. -CP

: When installing front disc brakes on 74 Mav, do you have to change the master cylinder and equalizer valve? The car had standard brakes and the discs are off a 75 with power brakes.
