I also had a 1973 with the package tray...but it had the curved up arm rests. I thought mine was an early 1973....but yours must have been really early!!

: This car was an early '73 (with the package tray). It had door handles just like my '70, the armrests are the same as my '70 but longer with a chrome (instead of black) base. I guess the change was mid-year. This car had a bench seat. -CP
: : The short stubby ones come on 1970-1972 models. The longer ones acytuall came on cars with bucket seats (as fas as I know). They are refered to as Grabber arm rests...but even regular Mavs/Comets had them if it had bucket seats. All 1973's had the arm rests with the curved up "handle".
: : Hope this helps

: : : I have found three different types of armreasts throughout the years.
: : : The short stubby ones that came on the 70 thru 72. The longer straight ones with a chrome base that came on the deluxe interiors. Which I believe was available only in 71 & 72. And last the 73 thru 77 arm rests which curve upward
