You're probably thinking about "small block." A long block is an engine assembly including heads & valvetrain. A short block is the block, pistons, rods & crank. -CP

: : This letter is a cry for part numbers and an offer to buy some of the bits and pieces that some of you may have.

: : I have been working on this four door Maverick for the last year and it is all coming together. Instead of re-building the 250 CID six, I have elected to install a 302. I've got a good price on a NEW engine from a local engine rebuilder in Scottsdale AZ. About $1200.00 for a long block, with all new parts. What are the correct part numbers for motor mounts?

: : How about front and rear springs?

: : I am told that a correct C4 transmission is slightly differant for the 302. Is this true?

: : The rear axle is I beleive around 2.79 to one and is eight inch diameter. This is a fine ratio for a freeway crueiser.

: : My suspension is all brand new (every part). Tires are new 195-70-14 Goodyear Eagle GTII's.

: : I will also need part numbers for accessory brackets for the engine (power steering, alternator, and air conditionilg).

: : I have a V8 radiator available for the swap.

: : I have not settled on intake components (carb and manifold and optimum cam). I also have not decided on headers or stock cast manifold. This comes later as I gather all the parts.

: : Thanks for any suggestions
