I'm about to yank the cylinder head off of my '73 250 to replace the head gasket (oil
or something is leaking from between the block and head on drivers side). I plan on
completely disassembling the head and have it hot tanked just to clean out the crud
in the intergral intake manifold and ports. Is there any simple mods I can do in a
weekend to the head to get a little more performance out of the engine. I don't want
to spend a whole lot of money like installing new valves, extrude honing etc. but was
wondering if a little hand porting will help and if anybody has done this before, where
should I concentrate the work? Is there anything else that can be done maybe to the
intake ports or exhaust manifold that is justifiable? The car is emissions exempt her
in conn. so I plan on blocking up the EGR and cleaning up a whole bunch of the
spaghetti like vacuum lines too.

Thanks
