: I've been trying to get my '73 maverick running right. I have a starting problem. The car will fire, run for a couple seconds and then just die. I rebuilt the head and cheked all valves etc., swapped carbs, checked fuel flow from the tank all the way to the carb, replaced the fuel pump checked spark, replaced plug wires, replaced plugs checked point gap changed coil. and the damn thing still wont run.

: HELP!!!

Try changing the intake gaskets. You might have a small vacuum leak. What kind of Intake are you running? If you got the Head work done, did they mill the head? because if they did you might have to run a thicker intake gasket. also check to see if you have any cracks in the fuel line, it might be sucking too much air.
