I have a friend over there. Would be cool if ya'll could get together. I've been trying to get him out to the track for a few years now. Send me an email...

: If your going to go to that extreem Summit sells complete rear subframes that you can just weld into the rear of the car. They come with all of the suspension and usually a narrowed 9" housing. If you don't want to go that way everything else you try will end up being close to what they sell. your best bet is to get good traction bars and stiffer springs and better shocks and Slicks that fit in the wheel wells. Also 60 foot times can be increased with high gearing. Consistancy is more important than time, because horse power will reduce E.T.'s on the other end. If you cut a consistant 1.9 every light than your car is hooking up, it's just not a fast leaver, but 12.40's are nothing to sneeze at, your car is fast. If your getting 1.9, then 1.8, then 2.2 then, 2.0 then 2.4 then there might be a problem with traction. More importantly what kind of reaction times are you getting, if there all different this could also effect 60 foot times. Check all the other things before you start dumping lots of money into your car changing the suspension. You might even be able to try a set of drag front shocks so that you get more weight transfer, this can help also and it's cheaper than change big parts. I would be happy with 1.9 60' times with my Grabber which runs a consistant 2.45 60' times and never spins off the line with steet tires, but has a huge top end run and it show in the mph 15.44 at 90mph on my last trip to Pomona. I also have 2.79 rear end. All the numbers would change just by changing the gears and nothing else. Good Luck! Todd.

: : I got my Maverick out to the track this weekend and found the rear suspension to be horrible for traction. The car ran a 12.40 at 110 mph, but its 60 ft e.t. was 1.9 seconds. I need to get this time down to 1.5 - 1.6 seconds. I'm looking to cut into the inner wheel well to add bigger tires. In doing so, I'd like to convert the leaf springs over to coil springs and a three or four link system. Has anyone made this change? Any recommendations for kits?
