I normally got the same responce for the longest time, but...now everyone likes my little 73 two door Mav. I get people driving up next to me waving and the thumbs up. I use to feel a little self conscience about telling people that I drove a Maverick, until I got the 289. Then it was a different story. I ate so many of those 50 mustangs! Only beaten twice on the street. Once by a hopped Mustang, and the other was a blown Corvette in New Orleans. Even took several big blocks. :O)

I got to the Round Rock car show on Saturday night with Doug(DAB), and we have noticed a large amount of people making positive comments and asking tons of questions. I guess they are tired of seeing all the Mustangs and Cameras.

Where I work, people have come up to me saying "so...that's your Maverick, huh? Nice car!"

The bad comments of the pastdo not outway ALL the good comments I get now. Hope this answers your question.

: What's with the attitudes people have about the Maverick? It seems like every time I mention I'm driving a Mav, I get the "oh, you poor soul" look. I like my '70 and had one new in '70. The motor just keeps running and running (like the bunny) and I feel the body style ain't bad. People seem to put it in the same class as the Gremlin and Pinto. Of course, I go along with the attitude in the mags - Dare to be Different. What's some of your takes on this - is it just me or do others get the same impression
