it's actually a light duty small block toploader, call Hurst themselves and talk with them. Also use a scatter shield and I would change the flywheel to a steel one, 30lb. You'll probably want to also beef up the clutch linkage. It has a tenticy to bend with the extra pressure plate spring pressure.

: K, here is da deal. I have an older toploader in my car, (76 mav) it has a narrow bolt pattern to the bellhousing. I have found that this trans was used from 1964 back. My problem is I am wanting to buy a new Hurst competition plus shifter for it. The one in it is 30 years old and was actually cut to make it straight at some point before I bought it 25 years ago. Does anyone know exactly what shifter install kit I should use. The people at Jegs and Summit have no idea. So now I toss it to you. Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated. Also at this time I am putting on Chassis Engineering frame connectors and Hooker super comp headers. I will post the outcome. Oh yeah a new Hays clutch and pressure plate as well.
