if you're using the aluminum bellhousing go to grade 8 studs and locktight it when you tighten it into the bellhousing. Use grade 8 nuts with lockwasher. If a scatter shield, use grade 8 bolts and nuts with lockwashers. Cables use at least 0 gauge for all cables.

: I am having all kinds of trouble keeping my starter bolted to the bell housing. I have tried lock tight. I went to the track tonight it was time for the third round got in my car to go race and it would not start. I thought that the battery cable to the silinoid had come loose, but that was not it. I thought maybe my starter was locking up so I crawled under my mav to tap the starter with a hammer and that is when I saw it laying on the headers, cable burnt in half. so needless to say my racing night was over. I do not believe it could be that the there is something wrong with my bell housing cause I have a new bell housing and I had the same troubles last year with the old one. Any and all help and sugggestions appriciated.
