The engine might be a roller block, they came out in 85 with carbs which gives you the TV linkage. Very important to make AOD work right. Keep the driveshaft, you'll need the yoke and have it cut and rebalanced. The diff is all different with a four link suspension, probably a 7.5 but might get lucky with a 8.8. Sell it and use the money to up grade your 8". Better that way and it fits all ready. Use the Alternator to, they usually 80+AMPs. Resump so you'll only have to change the pan and pickup tube. Alos you'll need a different or drill the timing cover for your oil dipstick, not a big deal.
: Ive got a chance to pick up the above w/ AOD for $250.00. The engine is tired, but I want to bore/stroke it out to a 347 CID...so who cares. My main question is the rear end. Is it a direct swap or ???? I'm also unsure about the drive shaft..will it need to be shortened or ????? Will I need to modify the transmission brace ???? Thanks for your help. Just picked a name for my ride...I'm calling her Candi.
