The '85 Police interceptor LTD came with an 8.8" rear so it will probably require a great deal of work to use it. The drive shaft is gonna be way too long. But the new tranny crossmember should be an easy fab for someone with access to a pipe bender and a welder. The AOD alone is worth the $250 so go for it and sell the 8.8 to recoup your investment.
: Ive got a chance to pick up the above w/ AOD for $250.00. The engine is tired, but I want to bore/stroke it out to a 347 CID...so who cares. My main question is the rear end. Is it a direct swap or ???? I'm also unsure about the drive shaft..will it need to be shortened or ????? Will I need to modify the transmission brace ???? Thanks for your help. Just picked a name for my ride...I'm calling her Candi.
