: When ALice got her engine swap I had the oil changed as part of the job and I took her in to the local shop (they always let me have a looksie at her underside while she on the rack and are willing to answer any concerns I have there and then). I noticed that even tho' the last oil change had been fairly recent the oil that was drained out looked pretty nasty... much dirtier than I would have expected... I've never used any of that garbage that claimes to be a liquid re-build ( I know it only masks problems ) or anything like that. There's no water residue, mayonaise or worrying signs like that just very thick and black... Did the guy just not change the old oil?
: Should I flush the engine? Am I just being paraniod? After spending $2500 + (not to mention what I wasted on that jackass in Olympia) just to make her road worthy again I don't want to take any chances..

I know that I will probably get lots of flak about this, I used to be a non believer myself until a guy about 75 made me try. If you will replace one quart of engine oil with Marvel and change the oil in 1000 miles and then repeat it once you will be amazed at how much cleaner it will stay. And then every oil change use 1 quart of marvel at the regular intervals. (I do it at 2000 because of a lot of city driving close by, oil is cheap)Just my experience.
