I love those 400's. I just wish they would drop into a Mav. like a 302 does!
My guess is that it might make between 275-300 HP if your lucky. But, it's going make all kinds of torque. Probly atleast 400-450 ft.lbs., all down low. Just make sure that you don't use anything less than a 750. Are you planning on building this? What's it going in?
If your planning on building this, I have a few suggestions.
First, I would use Summit's other cam. #5201
It's a 218/228 dur. with .509"/.509" of lift. This cam will broaden the rpm range a little. If it's in a truck and your doing some towing down the highway, it will make passing a whole lot easier.
Second, if you are planning on using roller rockers, I would use Harland Sharp #2002. They are listed as BB Chevy 1.8 Ratio rockers. That will give that cam right around .530" lift. In my experience, Cleveland's like that extra lift. Don't worry about not having enough piston to valve clearance either. A 351C (w/ 4V heads) I just built has .610" of lift with 251 degrees of duration @ .050. We are using a set of Keith Black pistons and they only have an intake valve relief. We still have all kinds of room left.
And finally, if this is going into a car, I have a whole bunch of other things I can go into. Just let me know.
