I have three 70 modelmavericks and one 72 model.the 70'sall have six bangers and the 72 has a 302.i am in the process of rebuilding one of the three sixes.one i have already rebuilt.bored it .030,shaved .060 from the heads,oversized valves,ported exhaust,two barrel weber.i have yet to find a stock 302 or 350 that can come close to it.goes best from a 20 mi. roll but can still run with the v-8's on any day.and on top of all that i still get 16 to19 mpg. on the highway.
