: About how much horsepower do you think a 400 cubic inch V-8 would make with these aftermarket parts:

: 1. Wieand 8010 intake manifold
: 2. 750 cfm Holley carb
: 3. Summit Racing camshaft, 204 to 214 degrees duration
: 4. 2 1/2 inch exhaust
: 5. And no exhaust recycling stuff (EGR)

I agree with Chris. The cam is to short on timing to make a lot of peak HP. The cam spec you give will make a lot of torgue for the size of the engine.
Also with this cam ,the carb can be a little smaller. As for heads, if this engine is a 400M, the runners in the heads are already huge for lower RPM use
accually to large. Personally I like a torque engine for the street. You can feel it all the time instead of having to wind to higher RPM to have the power come on.
Remember that this engine is a bit heavier than a 302 or 6 cyl and needs to have heavier front spring, and should have disc brake conversion. The trans needs to be good to handle the torque.
Good luck if you decide do this.
Ken
