Assuming you have an unshortened 69-70 Mustang 9" housing, you can run 15" x 8" rims with a 4 1/2" backspacing. A 9" wide tire will fit easily. 10" is snug. The inner fender lip needs to be either trimmed or rolled up to prevent the sidewall of your tires from getting sliced.

As a side note. You get more traction out of a taller, but narrower tire than a wide and short tire. Besides getting more road contact with a taller tire, the sidewall flexs more under acceleration putting even more rubber in contact with the road.

: I am wanting to put 10 1/2 inch tires on the back of my mav. but I WILL NOT cut on my car. Can someone give me some #'s on rim size( 15 x 7 or 15 x 8 or bigger?)and offset. It has a ford 9 inch.
