Paulie; before you get upset at the guy that changed your engine, change the oil yourself and put some miles on it, then make a judgement. Oil will get a bit dirty with use, but a lot of gritty and thick oil may mean blowby or cylinder problems. Just watch it closely, and if you are still skeptical, have it analyzed, and then go to the guy and ask what is up. Was this a rebuild, new, or used engine? Been a while and I forgot how you went with it.
