I think Ken's right. If you have a light car like a Mav., you should be OK. The one in our Mav. has lasted over five years with at least 250 runs plus normal street driving. But, the one in my Dad's Torino is another story. The car weighs about 4500 lbs. (w/driver) and has a built 400M (about 400 HP). We used to race it with some DOT tires for awhile, then we tried it with slicks. On our second pass, the tranny let go. Up until then, the transmission was working great.
