: Does anyone have any info on putting a 460cu.in. motor in a '71 Maverick ? I got the big block in a trade for a chevy intake, what a deal, those chevy guys are such suckers. Any help or suggestion would be most welcome! THANKS and GOD BLESS BOB GLIDDEN!

I was going to go with a stroked windsor but after talking to Chris Alston at Alston Chassis works, I am going to go big block. Rack and pinion is the best way to go about it, with either a strut or A-arm suspension. Their is also a company here where I live called Street Rod Engineering that produces complete crossmembers that weld directly into the maverick. The whole set-up including a new rack and pinion unit, spindles, control arms and 11 inch disc brakes goes for about 1750.00. Order the latest copy of Cris Alstons Chassis Works catalog and in it it shows exactly how to go about installing the crossmember and steering. It also shows how to instasll rear subframes with four link and ladder bar suspensions. It is a lot of good info for six bucks.

If anyone would like me to get any information from Street Rod Engineering here in Lake Havasu City, or just stop by and give my opinion on something, I would be more than happy to help out.
