: Springs very widely from car to car. 1971 Springs will definitely NOT fit a 1965 Mustang. Often in magazines, etc they will list 1965-1973 because the prices are the same, not because the application is. 1971 Mustangs are much heavier in the front. I doubt that you would see proper ride height with Mustang springs, and you'd be guessing. 428CJ springs would be different than I6 springs, do you concede that? If you have done it personally then please let me know how it worked out but if not I'd be very wary of giving that advice. -CP

Just passing along advice given to me. The diminsions, as far as size of the spring, are the same. I was not recommending a big block spring for a small block application. I didn't think I had to point that out, as Mavericks never came with a big block.

Check the archives. Somebody here put small block performance springs from Canadien Maustang, I think, into their Maverick and it worked great. I am going to do the same soon and will report on the results.

To clarify, DO NOT put big block springs into a small block car, unless you want to cut them. Don't put Greyhound bus springs in either! ;)

: : Usually 71-73. C=Sometimes spring mfg's list one spring for 65-73, so there isn't much difference.
