Glidden put a Cleveland into a Pinto. Dyno Don put a Boss 429 into a Maverick.
The Fairmont,Zephyr, Fox etc is a McPherson Strut front suspension with 4 link in the rear. Rack/Pinion steering.
And just so you all know that I know what I'm talking about I have a 82 Zephyr with a 460 in it and a 72 Grabber with a 302, AOD in it.
The rack/pinion from the Foxs will work in the Mav/Comet, you just have to make your own mounting crossmemeber, piece of cake. There is also a kit for "Stangs" that is for the 67+ years for a coil over front suspension. Mavs use the same shock towers as the Stangs so this kit will work also. Use the 67/68 Stang MPG conversion headers and you're in there. Cobra alum heads and fiberglass fenders & hood, and weight will be workable.
Good thing the pioneers didn't think it couldn't be done.

Does anyone have any info on putting a 460cu.in. motor in a '71 Maverick ? I got the big block in a trade for a chevy intake, what a deal, those chevy guys are such suckers. Any help or suggestion would be most welcome! THANKS and GOD BLESS BOB GLIDDEN!
