That happens to me, too. (On my '76 which is vented. Gas vapors are reaching the canister under the hood). The only way I've resolved it for the mean time, is by using a generic Stant cap. -Doug
: I had a strange problem today. My '69.5 Mav was leaking gas from the gas cap. It just dripped out. It was filled up last night, but this has never happened before, and it sort of scares me. I know the cap isn't vented, but does the '69.5 have an evaporative emmission system? Mine doesn't, but I am not sure if it was removed at some time before I got the car. Also, I know the seal on the cap is not working. Anyone got a Maverick gas cap to spare? The one with the black emblem on the back.
