JC; the engine should be a direct bolt-in. I took one from a Comet, and it bolted in, with no other problems. The water pump should be ok. The 2.79 should be ok, if you keep the engine stock, the stock converter will be fine. If you are going to get into a bigger cam, depending on lift and duration, the converter will have to be changed. If you are going to be tight on the cash, get the car running with the stock equipment, and then think about mods when the car is together. At least you will be able to use the car, and feel it out as you go. See what the Versailles 9" has for a gear, and it should be a bolt in. It is a lot more stout, but about 80lbs heavier, so you may want to ponder that bit too. Good luck. I did my entire swap in three days, from one car to another. A lot of work, but well worth it.
