A swap in a weekend? Wouldn't plan on it. Only way that usually happens is if you are swapping one engine for the same thing. You'll find the little stuff, fuel line, wiring, carb linkage, hoses, radiator, etc will eat up your time fast.
As for the Versailles rearend. There was a article in the Oct. 2000, Mustangs & Ford mag talking about this rearend. Gear ratios are 2.48-2.75, flange has to be changed and the disc brake parts are hard to find and costly. Go with a 8" and beef it up, you can also get disc brakes for them too. Figure you'll have to rebuilt it to, plus it's heavier.
I'm comming into some dough! How does a 79 Versailles 302 sound? Is this a good choice? I was thinking of getting it as a core and buying a remanufactured long block from a local machine shop. I will have arount $1000 to spend on an engine itself. Then there are new springs, engine mounts, disc brakes, exhaust....what else other than future mods?
