74 Comet, Will any other year Exaust Manifold Fit???

I am looking for an Exaust Manifold for my 1974 Comet, while searching, I have heard that ONLY a 1974 manifold will fit...I am pretty sure that the manifold I find has to come from a comet with A/C, but not sure if ONLY the 74 will fit..That doesn't sound right to me but I'm not sure... Anyone know???
(74 Comet, 250 in-line 6cyl with A/C)
