shop is a ripoff. Headers loosen but don't just fall off. you'll here exhaust leaks first. Kill you, Mike is right. Oil from exhaust is normal on a old engine, bad rings or valve stem seals or both. Find another shop, that doesn't look at women as "Victim". Also report them to your local Better Business Bureua, along with the State's Atturoney General.

: I have a 73 mav. I took it to my mechanic to have some work done awhile ago. When I picked it up he showed me the left tailpipe. It had oil mixed with exhaust. He said that eventually I would have to have this fixed (rebuilt). I took it to them a few weeks ago because part of the brake shoe came off while I was driving and the car swerved and sounded like crap. Well needless to say I had an oil change done and when I got it back it sounded and ran like a tractor. My boyfriend said it sounded like an exhaust leak. I took it to the tire place to get an alignment and the guy told me that I was really lucky that I hadn't died. Shocked I asked him why? One of my headers was completely off!!! There was exhaust coming directly out of the engine. I thought immediately that someone might have tried to steal something off of my car but then I started thinking about all of the little things about my car and my mechanic. Does it sound fishy to anyone else that there are all of these major problems with my car AFTER I pick it up from this guy? Also my boyfriend took his 280z to this guy to have the engine rebuilt. A job that was supposed to run about $1800 for the rebuild with install is now about 1900 just for the engine. He also found other things wrong like the water pump, cluch, some other stuff. In the end it is costing about $2500 to get the car back. It has also taken 1 month today and it still won't be ready for another couple of days. Is this normal? Thanks
: Jeri
