Hello JC. I don't know the person who is asking for the four door, but I do have a few observations to make as to why. Probably 99 percent of the people who ask questions on this board are performance buffs. All you have to do is look at the questions to know that. All most of them care about is how fast can I make this thing go! They have bought their Mavericks or Comets because they either cannot afford a Mustang or because one presented itself cheap that already had a V8, or they have a V8 that'll go right in. However, probably 1 percent of us here appreciate these cars for what they are, regardless of the drivetrain. We understand the role they played in Ford's sales picture of the 70's, and we enjoy having them. In other words, we're not performance buffs. We could care less if we can't do the quarter in 12 seconds! And the cars are not any less valuable to us because of it. Speaking for myself, since I bought my first one in late 1983 (A 71 with a 170 CI and Three Speed), I have never with the exception of a 87 F150 and 92 Ranger, ever owned or driven anything else. They are my daily drivers. They are expected to start every morning and take me to work, and then start that evening and bring me back home. They take me on vacation, or around town on errands. All with a minimum of problems or hassles. They are not show only cars, nor are they weekend warriors. And I can tell you that when I offer to take my parents to dinner, 60 year old folks are not going to climb in and out of a 2 door back seat. Their just not going to do it!! So that could be the reason why this person wants a four door, just for everyday things (as I believe they should be used). However, you shouldn't question that. You should be appreciative of the fact that one more person is going to prevent one more from being junked. It will be kept in the public eye, which is becoming increasingly important.
