POR-15 is a very durable, permanent paint. I think they have a website, but it is chip and scratch resistant, it is impervious to any kind of chemical or moisture. You can paint it directly over rust, no need to sandblast of anything. It will stop the piece from rusting. It is very tough stuff....and very expensive. $20 for half a pint.
