one thing you have to remember is that if you had a column shifter & it was converted to a aftermarket floor shifter, then it is cable operated & you cannot just put an mechanical floor shifter in. You also have to change the shifting arm in the transmission. Its not overly hard but you do have to drop the valve body. Column shifters push the shift rod rearward when shifting from park to low. Manual floor shifters push the rod foward. I have an 71 Comet floor shifter buried somewhere in my shed but I dont think I have the trans lever anymore. If your still interested, let me know & I will hunt for them.

: I am looking for a stock shifter for a '70 Mav, floor shift for the
: C-4 auto. I have a Z-gate in it now, but it looks terrible, and the stock
: stuff is always best. Will a shifter from another car fit (escort, pinto,
: or mustang), or do I need a Mav shifter? All help is appreciated, and if
: anyone has one, e-mail me and we can make arrangements. Thanks in advance,
