For last month's brake problem with the pedal that went to the metal. Only the wrong pedal.
Your new brake shoes required pushing the wheel cylinder pistons, back into the cylinder. When you did this you put it thou the rust ring that developed over those two years of setting,
When you starting using them again your scored the seals and they leaked internaly, this also happened in the master cylinder when you started using it again. The water/condensation that was in your system caused the rust.
Solution; change all the wheel cylinders and master cylinder. Drain and change the brake fluid. Replace all the "hard parts" in your brake assembly, springs, retainers, etc.
Brake systems work at between 600 to 1300 PSI and if there is any weak spot you'll have a leak.
